The Massey Ferguson 255 row-crop tractor from 200 Series was manufactured between 1975 and 1981. The MF 255 tractor can be powered by the following engines: Perkins AD4.203 4-cycle vertical 4-cylinder naturally aspirated liquid-cooled diesel engine with a rated power of 55 Hp (40.7 kW), or Perkins AG4.212 4-cycle vertical 4-cylinder liquid-cooled gasoline engine with a rated power of 55 Hp (40.7 kW).
This model is fitted with several transmission options: 8x2 gear transmission or 12x4 partial powershift transmission. The open center hydraulic system has a gear pump with rated fluid flow of 10 gpm (38 lpm). The Massey Ferguson 255 tractor is equipped with a power steering system, differential dry disc brakes, 6.00x16 (Farm) or 5.50x16 (Row Crop) front tyres, and 16.9x24 (Farm) or 14.9x38 (Row Crop) rear tyres. The tractor is compatible with Massey Ferguson 236 front-end loader.
